Dear Church Family,
As we welcome a new month, we take time to reflect on all that God has done in our church this past August. It has been a month filled with joy, growth, and meaningful milestones across generations. From nurturing the faith of our children, to commissioning new leaders, to honoring a ministry that continues to bear fruit after twelve years, we’ve seen the beauty of discipleship and community in action.
Here are a few highlights that remind us of God’s faithfulness in this season.
Ultimate Kids Huddle 2025
We started off the month of August with our kids gathered for the Ultimate Kids Huddle, a one-day event that felt like our kids’ very own discipleship conference. What began during the pandemic as small online huddles has since grown into a thriving, in-person community of children growing in their faith together each week.
At this year’s gathering, kids came together for a day of worship, learning, games, and connection. It was a joyful reminder that following Jesus is not something we do alone, but something we grow in together as part of God’s family.
If your child is not yet part of a Kids Huddle, now is a great time to get them connected. Let’s give them the gift of friendship, faith, and a strong spiritual foundation.

Leadership 113 Graduation
On August 23, we celebrated the graduation of our Leadership 113 class. Over the last ten months, these men and women walked through a season of intentional discipleship and leadership development. Their journey was marked by humility, perseverance, and a deepening desire to live out God’s calling.
One of the most powerful moments of the day came from one of our graduates, Marion Ivy Escobar, who spoke on behalf of the class. A retired military officer, Marion spoke about how years of disciplined service prepared her for a new kind of mission—one defined by surrender and obedience to God’s leading, “Regardless of my career status, I am still under His command, under His military force in the spiritual realm.”
Her testimony reminded us that leadership in the kingdom of God is not about status, but about submission. It is about choosing to love sacrificially, serve humbly, and lead others closer to Jesus.

To our Leadership 113 graduates, thank you for your commitment to grow and your willingness to be led by Christ. We stand with you as you go and make disciples.
Seniorly Yours at 12
We ended the month with the 12th anniversary celebration of Seniorly Yours on August 30. For over a decade, this ministry has been a source of wisdom, strength, and spiritual maturity in our church community.
This year’s theme, “Growing Deeper, Going Wider,” captured both the rootedness of the community and its expanding reach. The celebration was filled with meaningful reflections, shared stories, and a sense of joy that only deep, lasting relationships in Christ can bring. It was also a fun gathering—full of dancing, good food, and the beautiful generosity that flows from lives lived and shared in faith through the Seniorly Yours community.
The lives represented in this ministry continue to remind us that there is no retirement in the kingdom of God. Every season is an opportunity to grow, to give, and to glorify Him. We thank our Seniorly Yours family for your legacy of faith and your ongoing impact.

As we step into September, may we continue to walk as a church that follows Jesus wholeheartedly—discipling the next generation, developing leaders, and honoring every season of life. Whether you’re taking your first steps of faith or running strong in your calling, there is a place for you here.
Let us remain steadfast, united, and expectant for all that God is doing in and through our church.
With love and gratitude,
Your Victory BGC Church Family
